WARSAW


The bustling town of Warsaw was laid out in 1834 by William Carhart, with additions later by Eldridge and N. Buckalew. The 1960 population of this thriving Jefferson Township community was 594 people. Among the early settlers were the Robert Darling family, John Elder, the Merediths, Thomas Treadway, James Whitaker, Anthony Rine, the Brillharts, James Gamble, Fredericks, Stovers, Bowers, Mcneals, Crouls, Shephards, Kasers, Willises, Hayes, Burklews, Stromes, Clarks and Carharts.
