WARSAW

The town of Warsaw in Jeferson Township was laid out in 1834 by William Carhart, with additions ater by Eldridge and N. Buckalew. The 1960 population was 594 people. Among the early settlers were: Robert Darling family, John Elder, the Merediths, Thomas Treadway, James Whitaker, Anthony Rine, the Brillharts, James Gamble, Fredericks, Stovers, Bowers, McNeals, Crouls, Shepherds, Kasers, Willises, hayes, Burklews, Stromes, Clarks, and Carharts.
