The will was written 23 February 1837, but not presented in court until 31 March 1846.
William Morrison apparently died sometime just prior to 3 March 1846
when the will was presented to the justice of the peace in Randolph County.

Will of William Morrison deceased [Page] 461. William Morrison decd Will & Probate The State of Ohio Court of Common Pleas Coshocton County SS March Term wit. On the 31st day of March A.D. 1846
Be it remembered that on the day & year aforesaid That Mr. Goddard produced and authenticated a copy of the last will & testament of William Morrison late of Kaskaskia in the state of Illinois deceased executed and proven according to the laws of such state and on his motion it is ordered that the same be admitted as record in this court.
Which said last will & testament is in the words & figures following to wit:
In the name of God Amen
I William Morrison of Kaskaskia and state of Illinois being in bad health but in the entire possession of my mental faculties and wishing to make a fair and equal distribution of my property among my wife and children do make and declare this to be my last will & testament hereby revoking all others viz.
First I give and bequeath to my wife Eliza (late Eliza S. Bissel) and her heirs forever (if she shall survive me) the following property to wit: the house and lot whereon I now live bounded on the North by Elm street on the south by the lot of Nathaniel Pope on the East by the Grave yard and the lot [dark smudge] Robert Morrison [two or three lines too black to read]
462. Will of William Morrison decd Contd common field of Kaskaskia containing about three [unable to read] and a half in front and running from the grand line to the Mississippi River and bounded on the south by a tract belonging to the assigns of the late William Slaughter of Philadelphia and on the North by a tract of land owned & cultivated by the late Hugh H. Maxwell the tract of land hereby devised as the same that I have had in cultivation for several years.
Also all the personal property I may own at my death in the state of Illinois of whatever kind (debts & liabilities exempted including household furniture, slaves & servants indentured and registered horses & cattle in short every species of personal property with the above exception. Also two thirteenths of all my estate remaining after satisfying the legacies herein after provided the foregoing devise to my wife is made expressly in lieu of dower or any other claim she may have upon my estate in right of marriage. Second. Believing that I have heretofore advanced to my children William, Joseph, James, Lewis, Eliza (Mrs. Bruce) and Emily (Mrs. Hay) about two thousand dollars each and wishing to place my other children upon an equality with them, I do will and bequeath to Mary (Mrs. Clark) Olivia, Elosie, George, & Rebecca my remaining children each two thousand dollars

Fourth, after the payment of my debts and the satisfaction of the foregoing legacies I will & bequeath all the residue of my estate real personal and mixed to my children to be equally divided among them viz. William, Joseph, James, Lewis, George, Eliza, Mary, Olivia, Eloise and Rebecca. [Emily is not included.]
