Pancake Family


ROSELLA ANN PANCAKE - Rosella Ann Pancake was the daughter of William Pancake Junior and Maria Wilmott Gallagher of Coshocton County, Ohio. William was the son of William Pancake Senior and Mary Crawford and the brother of Samuel C. Pancake and Jane Pancake. William died in 1865 as a result of disease contracted during his service in the Civil War. He died in at his home in the county.Rosella's grandfather was William Pancake Senior of Columbiana County and Coshocton County. Rosella was also known as Rosa and Rosalie. She was born 27 Jul 1857 in Coschocton County and died 10 Jan 1925 in East Palestine, Ohio. She married William H. Helman of Lisbon, Ohio who was born in 1857 and who died in 1933, also in East Palestine, Ohio.Contributed by: Sandy Watrous

CARL DARLING PANCAKE - Carl Darling Pancake was the son of Stewart Megge Pancake and Priscilla Jane Freeland, of Coshocton County. Stewart was the oldest son of Samuel C. Pancake and Catharine Darling. Catharine's parents were Thomas Darling and Demy Butler, also of Coshocton County, Ohio. Carl was a newspaper reporter and married a woman named Margaret. They lived their lives in Chicago and Los Angeles. This photograph was found in the National Archives. Carl and Margaret did not have any children. He was born 14 Apr 1878 in Blandinsville, Illinois and died 29 Oct 1943 in Los Angeles, California. Contributed by:Sandy Watrous

ANNA PANCAKE YOUNKER - Rachel Ann Thompson was the daughter of William W. Thompson and Jane Pancake of Coshocton County, Ohio. Jane Pancake was the oldest daughter of William Pancake Senior and his wife Mary Crawford. Jane and William were the parents of Mary Jane and Rachel Ann. Shortly after Rachel's birth, Jane Pancake Thompson Died.Rachel Ann eventually married Jason T. Younker, also a resident of Coshocton County, Ohio. His photograph is also available. Rachel Ann and Jason T. Younker lived most of their lives in Colorado. She was born in February of 1840 and died 25 Dec 1901 in Denver, Colorado.
