Zirhut, Joseph J. (Joey) - From The Coshocton Tribune 25 May 1975(Sunday) - Obituaries Zirhut Joseph J. (Joey), Zirhut, 78, Coshocton Route 4, died at 12:30 pm. Saturday at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born March 27, 1897 in Pittsburgh, Pa. the son of Albert and Mary Shima Zirhut. On March 30 1930, he married Ethel Guinther, who survives. He worked as a rewinder at Buckeye fabric from 1943 until his retirement in 1962. He served in the U. S. Marines during World War 1. Surviving besides the widow, are three brothers, William Zirhut, Los Angeles Calif: Lawrence Zirhut, Canton, and Edward Zirhut also Canton, two sisters, Mrs. Henry, (Mary), Derby, Canton; and Mrs. Jay (Helen) McMasters also Canton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm. Tuesday at the Free Funeral home with the Rev. Don L. Sprague, pastor of the Prairie Chapel United Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Chapel cemetery Friends may call from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9pm. Zugschwert, Sarah Jane Murphy - From The Coshocton Tribune 9 March 1942 (Monday) - Mrs. Zugschwert Dies Mrs. William Zugschwert, 450 Pine St., died at 12:15 pm. Today at her home from complications. Details could not be learned at press time. Services will be held Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Church.
From The Coshocton Tribune 10 March 1942 (Tuesday) Funeral Services Here Thursday for Mrs. Zugschwert Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Zugschwert, 67, will be held Thursday at 9 am. in Sacred Heart Church with Fr. A. J. Domm in charge of the funeral mass. Burial will be in South Lawn cemetery. Mrs. Zugschwert died Monday at 12:15 pm. At her home, 450 West Pine-st. She was born in Coshocton May 24 1874, and spent her entire life here. On Jan 25, 1895, she married William Zugschwert, who survives. Also surviving are a son, William Jr., of Columbus, and a daughter, Sister M. Sara of Columbus, a member of the Dominican Order of St. Mary’s of the Springs, Columbus. Other survivors include a brother, Jay Murphy of Coshocton and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Weaver of Coshocton, Mrs James Cronin of Sheffield, Pa., and Mrs. Macra Carton of Los Angeles, Cal.- Submitted by:Kelly ImKellybar@aol.com

Zugschwert, William S - From The Coshocton Tribune 9 October 1950 (Monday) - William S. Zugschwert Dies in Columbus After Month’s Illness William S. Zugschwert, 83, former Coshocton resident, died Sunday at 9:45 Am. in St. Anthony’s Hospital Columbus, following an illness of four weeks He was a retired gum engraver having been associated with the American Art Works for 48 years, and a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge. He was born July 15, 1867, in Coshocton, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Zugschwert. In 1895 he was married to the former Sarah Murphy, who died in 1942. Surviving are one daughter, Sister Sara, a teacher in St. Thomas parochial school, Zanesville; one son, William Zugschwert of Columbus, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. In the Dawson funeral home. Rev. C. M. Higgins will officiate and burial will be in South Lawn cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 3 pm.
