Obituary of Carl R. Darr

Carl F. Darr, 34, Roscoe, Succumbs Following Long Illness
Carl F. Darr, 34, World War II veteran, died at 1:20 p.m. Monday at his home, 215 South Main st., Roscoe, following a long illness.
He was born in Coshocton on Sept. 21, 1917, a son of the late Ernest Darr and Clara Jamison Darr. He attended Coshocton high school and prior to his illness was employed at Steel Ceilings, Inc. He was a staff sergeant and served a total of five years in the army during World War II, part of which was overseas. He was a member of the VFW Post 2040 in this city.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Peter Sohngen, Roscoe, and one sister, Mrs. Clarence Hinkin, Warsaw. His father, former Coshocton county sheriff, died in 1935.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson funeral home with Rev. A. B. Johnson in charge and burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
