Obituary of Mrs. Catharine Orr (BOWMAN)

Democratic Standard, Coshocton, OH, 19 Jul. 1901, pg. 4 - Holmes County, Farmer -

Mrs. Catharine Orr, whose maiden name was Bowman, was born in Crawford township, Coshocton county, Ohio, March 2, 1838, and died in Millersburg, Sunday afternoon, July 7, 1901. The immediate cause of her death was dropsy. She was married to John S. Orr, now deceased, on April 6, 1854. To this union were born sixteen children, four of whom preceded her in death. Those living were Wm. A. Orr of Akron, Mrs. D. Campbell and Mrs. Peters, of Shreve, Mrs. J. E. Witherow of Illinois, Mrs. F. Shontz of Leetonia, Mrs. E. Ray of Wellington, Miss Minnie Orr of New Waterford, Ellsworth Orr of Cleveland, Mrs. E. Skelly, Mrs. J. Korns, James and Frank Orr of this county. Mrs. Orr was an industrious, kind hearted and patient woman who leaves many friends to mourn her departure. Besides her children she leaves thirty three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother and three sisters. The funeral occurred Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, the remains being interred at Oak Hill Cemetery, services conducted by Rev. P. H. Weishimer.
