World War 1

Sixty years ago this group of Coshocton County Soldiers, members of Co. I, were posing for their last photograph before they entered training camp, preparing them for overseas duty in World War I. This picture was snapped in front of the courthouse Sept. 16, 1917. In the forefront was First Lt.Howard L. Bible. At the extreme left was Capt. David Stitts, and at the extreme right was Sgt. George Stewart. Lt Bible, who died in 1930, was the father of nine children, one of whom is Mrs. Margaret Miskimens of Holiday Estates Mobile Home Park, along Ohio 93. She owns this photograph.many local residents still remember the members of local Co. I.
