The 1830 Census, Oxford Township, Coshocton County, Ohio entry for Silas Halsey:

         1 40 to 50  (Silas, 50)
females:  2  5 to 10  (Elizabeth Walker, 9 and Jane Walker)
         1 15 to 20  (Mary Groom, 18)

Adam Fletcher Walker was 11 or 12 in 1830 so doesn't seem to be listed in Silas' household.  Maybe he was living with Joseph Lake?

The place of childhood and extent of the formal education of Adam are unrecorded in the Family Record.

Apparently, Adam was well educated for that day.  He seems to have had access to or had accumulated or had inherited or had married capital.  According to local records, he owned and operated a tavern or lodging house at Roscoe, Ohio (the name of a modern motel at the same location).  Adam owned and operated canal boats on the Ohio Canal North and South out of the Roscoe Basin.  He dealt in the buying and selling of farms in and around the Coshocton area.  He also had a law practice on the side.  Adam was a Freemason.

Adam had red hair and blue eyes.  He stood well over six feet tall and was exceedingly strong, physically.  He was feared by rough boat owner competitors and their crews but was respected by the general community as an intelligent as well as unusually good and kind man.

After the death of Adam's wife, Mary Ann, he remarried to Sarah Foster 9/2/1856 in Tuscarawas, Ohio and had a son, Horace A. Walker b.7/13/1858 d.6/26/1859.

Adam died of pneumonia a few days after getting out of a sick bed to help a neighbor.  He is buried in the Waggoner Cemetery near West Lafayette, Ohio.  He was 40 years old.

Mary Ann was of the "socially prominent" Kay family of Philadelphia and her grandfather was an associated and close friend of Benjamin Franklin.

She was an educated, hard working and virtuous woman who treated her servants kindly and ran her household well.  She was brunette, blue eyed and petite.  She taught her children to read and write before they started to school.

The Kays (derivative of Kerr) were of the Scottish Clan DAVIDSON (family Mac Gregor).
